MINISTRY COMMITTEE
MISSION
"Our mission is grounded in the tradition of
the early Christian Church which promotes health, healing
and care for all God's people. We support the gospel message
that we are ALL called to journey toward wholeness of body,
mind and spirit."
MEMBERSHIP
The committee will consist of a minimum of six members
of the congregation, including at least one council member,
and a chair ratified by the Congregation Council.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide
for a monthly Service of Healing, addressing various
issues of healing and wholeness for body, mind, and
spirit.
- Home
Communion for the sick and homebound.
- Home
Service of Healing for the sick and homebound.
- One-to-one
caregiving and sharing our presence with others through
Bible reading, prayer and conversation.
- Encourage
healthful disciplines and activities among members
of the congregation.
- Relate
to the ministries of healing in our community and in
the larger church.
- Maintain
a Home Care Team providing companionship and practical
assistance in homes, e.g., respite care, errands, light
housekeeping, food preparation.
- Involve
the youth in opportunities for Caring Ministry.
- Relate
to other committees as needed, e.g., Social Ministry,
Worship and Music.
TIME
COMMITMENT
The term of service is normally one year, renewable.
The committee meets monthly or as needed.
ACCOUNTABILITY
AND REPORTING
- The
committee will provide regular reporting of its accomplishments
and recommendations to the Congregation Council.
- The
committee will prepare a written report for the annual
congregational meeting.
- The
committee will submit an annual budget request.
